Cancellation policy
For any course or outing of the Swiss Ski School of Geneva*, the following cancellation policy applies :
* Exceptions : Private lessons; Private group outings (cancellation policy : see below)
As of 29 days before the first course/outing, NO REFUND (even in case of an accident, illness or force majeure) will be allowed if a cancellation-insurance has not been concluded at the moment of the booking.
Specific cancellation policies apply for the private lessons and the private group outings as follows :
Private lessons : Full price will be charged in case of cancellation within 24 hours; 50% in case of cancellation within 72 hours.
Private group outings : Any cancellation of a booking up to 16 days before the outing is charged CHF 200.00 (fixed cancellation costs). For cancellations made later on, the cancellation policy applies as follows:
– 4-15 days in advance: 50% of the total amount
– 1-3 days in advance: 80% of the total amount
– Less than 24 hours: 100% of the total amount
Cancellation insurance
At the moment of the booking, (lesson, outing or else), the Swiss Ski School of Geneva offers the possibility to conclude a cancellation insurance.
Benefits
Pro rata refund of the lessons/outings not used as a result of:
No invoicing of any supplementary fee (additional transport or ski-pass costs) as provided for in the Terms and Conditions in case of rescheduling or move to another place

Scope of application
All the courses and outings of the Swiss Ski School of Geneva (private lessons and private group outings included)
Premium
Single premium : 5.75% of the total price of the course/outing (options included)
Due at the same time as the course/outing (mandatory)
The premium is never refunded.
Terms & Conditions of the cancellation insurance of the Swiss Ski School of Geneva
1. Insured events
Illness, accident and death of the participant
If the participant dies, gets ill or suffers from pregnancy-related problems or has a accident and the course/outing is not possible for this person due to the instructions of a physician or if this person suffers a medically certified deterioration of a chronic disorder.
Illness, accident and death of other persons such as:
a. A very close family member of the participant (father, mother, child, brother, sister)
b. The substitue of the participant at her/his workplace
If one of the persons above dies, gets seriously ill or suffers from severe pregnancy-related problems or has a severe accident or if this person suffers a medically certified deterioration of a chronic disorder.
Loss of employment
If, following the booking of the course/outing, the employment contract of the participant or her/his legal representative is unexpectedly terminated.
Failure of public transportation
If public transportation used or planned to be used by the participant (excluding taxis) to go to the meeting point is delayed or cancelled and the course/outing is missed as a result of this.
Accident or breakdown of the private vehicle
When the private vehicle or taxi during the direct journey to the meeting point fails (unfitness to drive) as the result of an accident or breakdown (excl. lack of fuel and lost keys).
Burglary, events related to fire, water events or natural forces at the place of residence
If the property of the participant or her/his legal representative at their place of residence is severely damaged as a result of burglary, fire, water events or natural forces, thus requiring her/his presence during the course/outing.
Additional fee in case of cancellation/postponement/move of a course/outing due to force majeure
The additional costs as provided for in the Terms and Conditions (ski-pass, transportation) if the Swiss Ski School of Geneva must cancel/postpone/move a course/outing due to force majeure* are not invoiced.
*Force majeure can be defined e.g. as follows: bad weather conditions/blackout/energy restrictions resulting in closing all the ski lifts and cable cars of the ski resort, lack of snow, epidemic, natural disaster, force majeure, war.
2. Uninsured events
Poor weather conditions
Except if the course/outing has to be cancelled due to force majeure resulting in closing all the ski lifts and cable cars of the ski resort (see the Terms & Conditions for this case), poor weather conditions (rain, wind, cold) are not subject to any reimbursement or compensatory allowance.
Meeting time
When the participant is not on time at the meeting point and therefore misses the course/outing or part of it.
Non-compliance to sanitary measures (e.g. Covid certificate)
If the participant cannot/does not want to follow the courses s/he signed up for due to sanitary measures (e.g. Covid certificate, protective mask), s/he will be excluded and the missed courses will not be reimbursed (exception : closure of the ski resorts due to sanitary reasons).
Poor recovery
If a disease or the consequences of an accident or operation already existed at the time the travel was booked and there has been no full recovery before the date of the course/outing.
If the consequences of an operation already planned at the time the booking but not performed until afterwards have not fully healed by the date of course/outing.
3. Obligations in case of claim
Duty of information
The participant or her/his legal representative has to inform the Swiss Ski School of Geneva as soon as possible in case of an insured event. If the course/outing takes place over a number of days, the participant must inform the Swiss Ski School of Geneva as soon as possible if s/he can participate or not to the other days.
Supporting documents
The participant or her/his legal representative must provide any supporting document that proof the loss (medical certificate, etc.).
Deadline
Any supporting document proving the loss must be given to the Swiss Ski School of Geneva by 30 April of the current season.
Reimbursement
The reimbursement is made within 30 days maximum on the IBAN account that will be provided by the policy holder.
Legal venue
The legal venue is Geneva.
The French text prevails.
