Applicable to all activities of the Swiss Ski School of Geneva
All the information given to the clients is subject to changes depending on snow and weather conditions.
The lessons are payable in advance. The number of participants for each course might be limited (first come, first served). The lessons take place by any weather. Not attended courses will not be reimbursed or rescheduled (unless a cancellation insurance is concluded – see terms and conditions of the cancellation insurance).
The Swiss Ski School of Geneva applies the sanitary measures decided by the authorities (e.g. protective mask, social distancing, restricted capacity, Covid certificate or else). If the participant cannot/does not want to follow the courses s/he signed up for due to sanitary measures, s/he will be excluded and the missed courses will not be reimbursed.
Participants must arrive on time at the meeting place with the required equipment.
The legal guardians commit to pick up the minor children under 16 immediately upon the return to the fixed meeting point (they shall inform if their child is authorised to go back home on his own; unless otherwise specified, the children over 16 are allowed to go back home on their own). The children are under the responsibility of their legal guardian immediately upon the return to the meeting point.
The Swiss Ski School of Geneva declines any responsibility in case of an accident. Insurance is borne by the participants. In case of an accident, the participants or their legal guardians allow the instructors, course managers, coaches or any other manager of the Swiss Ski School of Geneva to take all appropriate measures in their interest and therefore to call for emergency services if necessary. Any related expenses are borne by the participants.
Participants must also carry a personal liability insurance.
Participants with a specific diet or with health problems are asked to take all necessary precautions and measures and to inform the Swiss Ski School of Geneva about it at the moment of the registration. These details will be treated on a confidential basis with the instructor.
Participants must follow the instructions given by the instructors, as well as the usual security and safety rules.
The Swiss Ski School of Geneva declines any responsibility in case of theft and/or loss of personal equipment. The Swiss Ski School of Geneva reserves the right to invoice any damage/loss of the material that might be provided for the activity.
By enrolling in a course, the participants or their legal guardians allow the Swiss Ski School of Geneva to use their e-mail address for the purpose of general communication regarding the Swiss Ski School of Geneva. At any moment they can ask the Swiss Ski School of Geneva to delete their data from the files of the Swiss Ski School of Geneva and/or unsubscribe from e.g. newsletters.
By enrolling in a course, the participants or their legal guardians allow the Swiss Ski School of Geneva to reproduce or circulate on its communication supports any image or video taken during the activities. If the participant or the legal guardian does not want these images or videos to be used, s/he can inform the Swiss Ski School of Geneva about that.
The Swiss Ski School of Geneva is not subject to VAT.
In case of a dispute, the parties concerned shall seek a gentlemen’s agreement.
The legal venue is Geneva.
The French text prevails.
Cancellation policy
For any course or outing of the Swiss Ski School of Geneva*, the following cancellation policy applies :
* Exceptions : Private lessons; Private group outings (cancellation policy : see below)
As of 29 days before the first course/outing, NO REFUND (even in case of an accident, illness or force majeure) will be allowed if a cancellation-insurance is not concluded at the moment of the booking.
* Specific cancellation policies apply for the private lessons and the private group outings as follow :
Private lessons : Full price will be charged in case of cancellation within 24 hours; 50% in case of cancellation within 72 hours.
Private group outings : Any cancellation of a booking up to 16 days before the outing is charged CHF 200.00 (fixed cancellation costs). For cancellations made later on, the cancellation policy applies as follows:
– 4-15 days in advance: 50% of the total amount
– 1-3 days in advance: 80% of the total amount
– Less than 24 hours: 100% of the total amount

1. Group classes and other collective activities
(Series of group lessons, beginners days, Teachers Academy, instructors training courses ZA, etc.)
The lessons are given in French.
Unless clearly otherwise specified (e. g. beginners’ days, instructors’ training courses ZA), the price only includes the lessons with qualified instructors, the transportation by bus and the ski-pass; the rental of the ski/snowboard equipment is not included (exception: Beginners’ days).
Discounts apply as follows:
– Family discount: -10 % for all family members living at the same address as of 2
– Discount for enrolment on 2 series: -10% (not applicable on the beginners’ days). If a second registration is done later on, there is no retroactive discount on the first booking.
Discounts cannot be cumulated; they cannot be applied on promotional offers.
Participants must arrive on time at the meeting place with their complete ski/snowboard equipment. The bus will not wait for those arriving late. The legal guardians commit to pick up the children under 16 immediately upon the return of the bus. The children are under the responsibility of their legal guardians upon the return of the bus at the meeting place.
For organisational reasons, the instructors do not accompany the participants in a sports shop of the ski resort to get their equipment. However, should an instructor need, for any reason, to accompany a child that arrives at the meeting point in Geneva without the complete equipment, a fee of CHF 100.00 is invoiced in addition to the rental cost.
The Swiss Ski School of Geneva is allowed to expel definitively a participant behaving inadequately; in this case, there is no reimbursement; if the participant is minor, the legal guardians will be informed before.
In particular, minor children participating in group classes are requested to make very limited use of smartphones, tablets and other digital device; during the lessons, the instructor may prohibit their use, or even confiscate them; in this case, the device is given back to the parents or legal guardians at the end of the day.
Participants are divided into groups according to their level (the Swiss Snow League level being not the only criterion). Children (6-15 years) and teens (16-19 years) can be in groups mixing both age categories. Adults are part of separated groups. Children-teens : 4-10 participants max., adults : 5 participants max.
The Swiss Ski School of Geneva reserves the right to cancel a course/level/series of lessons due to insufficient registrations. In this case, the inscription fee is reimbursed (free of charge). (Even if there are only few inscriptions, the collective courses for adults take place without any additional fee.)
If for any reason the quota of maximum 5 participants is exceeded for the “Collective PLUS” option, the participants are automatically integrated in bigger group classes and the extra fee is reimbursed on a pro rata basis of the number of courses done in a group of 6 or more participants (free of charge).
If a meal is included for lunch (group lessons, beginners days, Young Teachers Academy, Glacier 3000 outing), the Swiss Ski School chooses the restaurant, the menu, the location and the schedule. In no case, the meal can be refunded if the participant does not eat (e.g. because the participant is not hungry, does not like the menu or any other reason). As far as possible, diet restrictions (e.g. allergies, intolerances, religious interdictions) are taken into consideration.
In case of need or force majeure*, the Swiss Ski School of Geneva reserves the right to change the ski resort or reschedule the course for another date of the current season without any reimbursement or compensatory allowance. If necessary, one/several/all the lessons of a series may also take place in another ski resort; in this case, an extra fee of max. CHF 30.00 per day for adults (max. CHF 20.00 for children) might be invoiced for additional transport or ski-pass costs. If in case of need or force majeure*, one/several/all the lessons of a series cannot take place before end of the season, no refund is allowed if a cancellation insurance has not been concluded at the moment of the booking.
* Cases of need can be defined e.g. as follows: bad weather conditions/blackout/energy restrictions resulting in closing all the ski lifts and cable cars of the ski resort, lack of snow, epidemic, natural disaster, force majeure, war. (As long as the ski resort is open – i.e. min. one ski lift, the lessons do take place.)
2. Private lessons, “Learn to ski in 3 days”, ski for seniors and snowboard days
The price only includes lessons with a qualified teacher. Unless clearly otherwise specified, transportation, ski-pass and equipment are not included.
Full price will be charged in case of cancellation within 24 hours; 50% in case of cancellation within 72 hours. The lessons take place by any weather. Not attended courses will not be reimbursed.
It is customary to offer the lunch to the instructor on full-day lessons.
Participants must arrive on time at the meeting place with their complete equipment. The legal guardians commit to pick up the children immediately after the end of the lesson.
When arriving late to the meeting point, the client contacts the instructor on the given phone number. The instructor waits for the participants during 20 minutes max. and tries to contact the clients as well on their phone number. If the instructor cannot get any news, s/he leaves the meeting place 20 minutes after the appointed time. If the lesson starts late due to late arrival of the participants, the lesson ends at the appointed time. The fee of a lesson that has been confirmed and that finally cannot take place is due and is not reimbursed.
If the client wishes the instructor to give advice for hiring the equipment at a sports shop, the time spent will be deducted from the duration of the lesson.
The 6 dates of private lessons packs have to be determined at the moment of booking. If there are non-used lessons of a 6-pack left at the end of the season, the remaining lessons are lost.
All the bookings have to go through the office of the Swiss Ski School of Geneva (website, telephone, e-mail, etc.). It is forbidden to arrange lessons directly with the instructor without informing the Swiss Ski School of Geneva. In this case, the Swiss Ski School of Geneva declines any responsibility in case of an accident.
3. easySki by ESS Genève
The price only includes the transportation by bus from Geneva and the ski-pass. Ski/snowboard lessons are not included.
Participants must arrive on time at the meeting place as well in Geneva as in the ski resort. The bus will not wait for those arriving late and there is no compensatory allowance if the bus has already left.
Children under 16 are must be accompanied. For minor children more than 16, an authorisation must be signed by the parents or the legal guardians.
4. Gym Courses “Get ready for skiing”
The price includes the teaching by qualified coaches and the entrance to the fitness room.
The Swiss Ski School of Geneva reserves the right to cancel a course due to insufficient registrations. In this case only, the inscription fee is reimbursed.
Participants must arrive 15 minutes before the beginning of the lesson.
The lessons are given in French.
5. Private group outings
The price only includes the activities and services mentioned in the offer. Any additional cost is invoiced separately with the final invoice. The transportation is not included in the offer; a separate contract for the transportation can be concluded.
Payment terms: 50% on booking, 50% on invoice (payable on receipt). The final invoice is based on the number of participants booked. The exact number of participants must be confirmed 4 days before the outing.
Cancellation conditions: Any cancellation of a booking up to 16 days before the outing is charged CHF 200.00 (fixed cancellation costs). For cancellations made later on, the cancellation policy applies as follows:
– 4-15 days in advance: 50% of the total amount
– 1-3 days in advance: 80% of the total amount
– Less than 24 hours: 100% of the total amount
